Boulouki, in collaboration with the UNESCO Vikos-Aoos Global Geopark, invites you to a unique excursion into the nature of our region!
To celebrate European Geoparks Week, we will spend a day becoming “researchers” of our own mountain and discovering the unique biodiversity on the slopes of Smolikas.
Everyone is welcome to walk together, share our knowledge, and record the wild forest fruits, plants, and mushrooms in the area.

Meeting Time: 5:00 p.m.
Meeting Point: Vrisi Panagias in the Kerasovo square
Duration: 2-3 hours (easy hiking)
Participation is free
What will we do during the walk?
Exploration & Identification: We will walk along a section of the O3 trail towards Smolikas and identify wild fruit and mushroom species, learning which are edible and which are rare.
Connecting Earth and Wildlife: We will discuss how the unique soil and rocks of our area influence the biodiversity present in the forest.
Citizen Science: We will photograph our findings and learn how, through simple mobile applications, we can help scientists map and protect the natural wealth of our village.
What to bring with you?
- Comfortable walking shoes, appropriate clothes for the mountain, and a hat.
- Your mobile phone or camera (to capture our findings).
- A small basket or paper bag, if you wish to collect fruits/produce.
- Enthusiasm and love for our forest!
