Archisearch features “Boulouki at the Bridge”

Archisearch featured Boulouki’s first stone masonry workshop, “Boulouki at the Bridge”, held in Plaka Tzoumerka between 20–31 August 2018. Organised in collaboration with the Metsovion Interdisciplinary Research Center (MIRC) and the Municipality of North Tzoumerka, the workshop brought young professionals into direct contact with traditional stone building knowledge through hands-on work along the historic footpath leading to the Plaka Bridge.

Guided by experienced master builders from the region, participants practiced three core techniques of traditional bridge construction, the arch, the wall, and the stone-paved kalderimi, highlighting the continuity of a craft deeply rooted in local memory, landscape, and culture.
